Born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, Drayton “The Megaphone” Jackson didn't take a conventional path to leadership. Two decades of homelessness fueled his passion to dismantle poverty's grip. Today, he's a voice for the voiceless, empowering individuals, organizations, and even elected officials with tangible solutions.
As an elected official on the Central Kitsap School District Board and founder of Jackson Communications, Drayton is a voice with boots on the ground. He travels the country, sharing practical strategies for overcoming poverty through workshops and his company's expertise. His remarkable journey has earned him recognition from Governor Jay Inslee's Poverty Reduction Work Group to the Aspen Institute, where he helped design initiatives for student parents.
But Drayton's impact extends beyond titles and awards. He champions a two-generational approach at the Foundation of Homeless and Poverty Management, guiding families from homelessness to stable lives. This dedication earned him the prestigious Washington State Representative Tarra Simmons Champion of Justice award, as well as his foundation's recognition as the Greater Kitsap Chamber Nonprofit of the Year in 2022.
